UK and Pakistan have agreed to expand their educational collaboration

Dr. Christian Turner, the British High Commissioner, and Amir Ramazan, the British Council Country Director, paid a visit to Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain in his office here and discussed ongoing educational cooperation between the two countries, including the flagship higher education programme 'Pak-UK Education Gateway,' FCDO's technical assistance for the formulation of the national curriculum, and collaboration for research.

They also highlighted the British Council's assistance in connecting classrooms, bringing back 5,000 out-of-school children, and developing links between the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and industry, the TVET sector, and the apprenticeship programme.

The education minister praised the UK's assistance for Pakistan, saying that Pakistanis are at ease with British people and regard the UK as their second home. He stated that the ministry would develop educational relations with the United Kingdom in all fields.

Rana Tanveer Hussain, in response to the British high commissioner's formal invitation to attend the World Education Forum in the United Kingdom in 2022, said he would be delighted to have the opportunity to showcase Pakistan's education system and values at the world's largest gathering of education and skill ministers.

The British high commissioner stated that his country wished to work as closely as possible with Pakistan. Both parties decided to expand their educational collaboration.
