Karachi University's Director of Finance Seat Stays Occupied

Tariq Kaleem, the former Director of Finance at the University of Karachi, has resumed his old role as Director of Finance without issuing any official notification.

The Director of Finance, Tariq Kaleem, arrived at the University of Karachi yesterday afternoon after completing his term. He sat in his office in the administrative block, where he also saw the official post marking the end of his term. He also saw some officers from the university.

It should be noted that despite the passage of 10 days, he did not return the official vehicle, the matter did not stop here, but earlier on Monday morning, a meeting of the Departmental Accounts Committee (DAC) was called by the Department of Universities and Boards. Apart from DG Audit Sindh, Secretary Universities and Boards Mureed Rahman and University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi were also present.

A meeting was called regarding some audit reports issued concerning the University of Karachi and Tariq Kaleem was invited to attend. While he continued to answer the relevant audit paragraphs as Director of Finance on behalf of the University of Karachi, the audit objected. On behalf of the Chief Minister of Sindh, the DG Audit and his team did not know that the person seated in front, whose name plate and position are written as Director of Finance, completed his three-year term of office 10 days ago.

The post of Director of Finance has never been given to another officer, including him, nor has Tariq Kaleem, the officer currently holding the post, been extended.
