Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is proposing major changes to the British education system according to foreign news reports.

Under the Premier's plan, mathematics will be compulsory for all students up to 18. The plan challenges children to think, understand, and be creative.

His goal is to help people feel 'confident' about mortgages and finances, adding to their skill set, according to BBC.

Maths is studied by just half of 16 to 19-year-olds, says Mr. Sunak - but that number includes pupils doing science courses and those doing GCSE resits as well.

For students interested in studying the humanities and creative arts, the plans are unclear. There are no plans to introduce updated qualifications.
