The Taliban will soon announce the opening of a girls secondary school

In an interview with a foreign news agency, Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani said that the good news about the opening of girls' secondary schools would be announced soon. "There is no one among us who is against women's education," he said.

The Afghan interior minister said that girls in Afghanistan were going to school for primary education but the high school system was setting up mechanisms for girls to continue their education.

Siraj ud din Haqqani added that for girls to pursue higher education, school uniforms must be in accordance with Afghan culture and Islamic laws and principles. Earlier, in March this year, the Taliban closed schools and colleges just hours after they opened.

It should be noted that after taking control of power, the Taliban had asked the women to wear hijab in which the head is covered while the face can be kept open. However, since the beginning of May, the Taliban have instructed women to wear full burqas.
