Special IT & CS training program for school teachers in Punjab

The Punjab government has planned an eight-day training programme for IT and Computer Science teachers in all of the province's districts. The programme intends to provide students with digital skills appropriate for the twenty-first century.

The training will be conducted by the Quaid-e-Azam Academy for Educational Development (QAED), the Punjab government's main institution for in-service and pre-service teacher training.

The training will begin on Monday, May 30th, and end on Monday, June 6th. During this time, the teachers will receive three days of face-to-face training and five days of online training.

DG QAED asked Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of all District Education Authorities (DEAs) and District QAED Heads to ensure that all IT and Computer Science teachers in their districts should participate in the training.

Punjab's School Education Department (SED) agreed earlier this month to administer an English language competence test to all primary school English teachers.

This test will also be held at QAED. On June 12 and 19, the test will be held in Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi. SED Punjab would also offer each teacher with a travel allowance of Rs. 1,000.
