Sindhi Language Authority Set Up Office in DJ Science College
The Provincial Education Department has begun preparing to open the Sindhi Language Authority in the old DJ Science College in Karachi. So far, it had not been successful.
According to Express News, the Provincial Education Department has begun preparing to establish the Sindhi Language Authority in the old DJ Science College in Karachi. Due to a lack of classrooms, faculty, and labs in DJ Science College, which is still vacant, this block was built.
In the newly constructed block, several rooms have been occupied for a long time by contractors, and the DJ College building had been built at government expense and could not be used for educational purposes.
Meanwhile, a language authority official says that since the authority also conducts research and teaches, it is better for it to work in two rooms.
In this regard, people associated with the Sindhi Language Authority recently visited the DJ Science College building to assess how the office will be established there. Within a few days of starting work there, walls were torn down from classrooms and offices and doors were installed.
A strategy was developed as the walls were torn down and the doors were to be installed.
Express News contacted DJ Sindh Government Science College Principal Professor Meher Mangi about the matter. He told us that the information that the DJ College block has been handed over to the Sindhi Language Authority is incorrect.
Work on repair and maintenance has begun. Upon being asked why the walls are being broken during repairs and maintenance, he said that this matter had also come to his attention. He stated that information would be collected.
Prior to this, the Sindh Textbook Board's office was located in DJ Science College's Principal Bungalow, which is still there today. On the other hand, the Directorate of Private Institutions Sindh along with the Department of College Education is located at Government College for Women, which is on Liaquat Road.
While there is a lack of classrooms for college students, the Director General Colleges Sindh and Regional Director Karachi share a building.
