Shafqat Mahmood launched free lunch program in Islamabad’s 100 primary schools

On Wednesday, Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood launched a free lunch program in 100 primary schools around the federal capital. He began the program by offering a free meal to students at an F-6 school. The meal will be served to all students in 100 primary schools that are under the Federal Directorate of Education's (FDE) supervision.

The meal was prepared in partnership with the Allah Walay Trust, according to the minister speaking on the occasion. He stated the administration was working to get the curriculum into all of the country's schools, and that he had also raised the problem with an international donor agency.

The ceremony was attended by FDE Director General Dr Ikram Ali Malik, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University Dr Mohammad Ali Shah, Secretary of the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, and officials from the trust and FDE.
