Serbia school attack: 13-year-old shooter made 'kill list'

In Serbia, a 13-year-old shooter opened fire indiscriminately on Vladislav Ribnikar primary school in Belgrade, killing a security guard and eight students.

According to the World News Agency, an armed suspect entered the school, first shooting and killing the security guard before opening fire on the students.

The attacker was also studying at the same school, where he also gravely injured 5 students in the shooting.

The death toll is expected to increase due to a student's critical condition, although the other 4 victims have also undergone surgery.

The suspect is alleged to have used his father's guns, both with legal permits. He is also said to have been to a shooting range with his father before the killings.

According to President Aleksandar Vucic, the attack was "the most difficult day in the modern history of our country."

As a result of the killings, Mr Vucic suggested lowering criminal liability to 12.

A review of firearms licenses and tightening of the rules around who can access shooting ranges are also among his reforms.

In addition to planning the attack a month in advance, the suspect carried a list of children to target, and which classrooms he would attack first, according to police reports.
