Punjab Govt issues an ultimatum to unregistered private educational institutions in Lahore

All unregistered private schools, colleges, and academies in the provincial capital must register with the Punjab Government by March 15, according to the District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore.

According to information, the DEA Lahore had originally set the deadline for all private educational schools in the city to register on February 15th. However, due to a lack of response from the proprietors of the provincial capital's private schools, colleges, and academies, the deadline has been extended.

Private educational establishments can register themselves through the Private Education Provider Registration and Information System, according to a representative for the DEA Lahore (PEPRIS).

After March 15, any unregistered school, college, or academy will be closed, and legal action will be taken against the owner and senior administration, according to the spokesperson.

The Punjab government launched the PEPRIS system in November 2020 to make the registration of private institutes in the province easier. More than 86,000 institutes have enrolled since its inception.
