Punjab Government Colleges Face a Teacher Shortage
Chief Minister Punjab has taken an important decision to address the long-standing shortage of teachers. Government colleges across the province, including Lahore, will recruit new and qualified teachers.
The recruitment of 3800 teachers, which was delayed for two months, has been approved. Every year, the Higher Education Department recruits temporary teachers for government colleges.
This process usually starts in the month of May, but not this year. A decision was made to begin the recruitment process in August.
The summary of recruitment of 3800 teachers was sent to the Punjab Chief Minister two months later in August.
Pervez Elahi, Chief Minister of Punjab, has approved the summary regarding teacher recruitment.
Additionally, a monthly salary of 45 thousand rupees will be provided to temporary teachers at government colleges.
