Punjab Board Decision to Not Fail Students
Punjab Board Decision to Not Fail Students
The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen has made major changes to its examination rules. Matric and intermediate exams will no longer be considered completely failed under the new rules.
If candidates fail any number of subjects, they will now appear in 2nd annual exams (previously known as supply exams). It is now impossible to declare a student as having failed.
In order to prevent students from abandoning their studies after failing a few subjects, this decision was made. Students who failed more than two subjects in the annual exams were not allowed to sit for supply exams if they failed more than two subjects.
Due to the recent changes, candidates will have two chances to pass the subjects they failed. Students will no longer be completely failed in matriculation and intermediate. Those who fail must re-clear only the relevant subjects. The majority of students dropped out after failing multiple subjects. The decision was made to encourage students to easily pass Matric and Intermediate exams.
