PMC Announcement for Doctors

The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has decided to extend the validity of doctors' registrations. In a recent meeting, the PMC council made the decision.

A doctor's registration will now remain valid for five years instead of two, according to reports. Additionally, doctors aged 60 or older will only have to pay 50% of the total registration fee to renew their registration.

Furthermore, the PMC Council has authorized all provincial medical commissions to conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in 2022.

In addition, 55% of applicants to MBBS programs must pass the paper-based MDCAT, while 45% of applicants to BDS programs must pass the paper-based MDCAT. MDCAT registration has also been extended by 10 days.

The Senate Standing Committee on Health rejected amendments offered by some senators to amend the "Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Bill 2022."

A bill that has been cleared by the Standing Committee cannot be amended, and amendments can only be made in Parliament, according to the meeting presided over by Senator Dr. Muhammad Humayun Mohmand.
