Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal announces a Rs 6000 monthly stipend for orphan girls

For the first time ever, Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal (PBM) is providing social protection to orphan girls for their education. In this program, Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal is addressing the needs of orphans and widows under its Orphan and Widow Support Program.

PKR 6000 to 12000 will be given to each family based on how many orphan girls they have.

An official ceremony for the release of the payment was held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal by PBM Managing Director Amir Fida Paracha.

In his remarks on the occasion, the PBM Managing Director said orphan girls are often neglected by society after the loss of their father. Aiming to provide financial assistance for such girls so they can continue their education and become accomplished mothers. This initiative seeks to provide financial support for such girls.

In addition, a detailed explanation of the program's features was given at the event. It was the first ever program launched by PBM for the education of orphan girls in the country.

As part of the initiative, PBM Director of Projects Qasim Zafar is providing financial support to orphan girls of registered widows with BISP through schools, colleges and universities.

The pilot project will be evaluated after three months, according to him. A monthly stipend of PKR 6,000 - 12,000 will be given to families based on the number of girls, through the UBL Omni.
