Pakistan and Kazakhstan agree to expand educational cooperation

There has been an agreement between Pakistan and Kazakhstan to further strengthen ties in the education sector.

During the second meeting of the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Alumni Forum in Islamabad, an understanding was reached.

As guest of honour, Kazakhstan's Ambassador Extraordinary, Yerzhan Kistafin, announced that direct flights between Pakistan and Kazakhstan would begin in June, boosting cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, the President of the Forum, stated the meeting's goals are to encourage collaboration between Pakistan and Kazakhstan in the fields of higher education, cultural relations, and technology exchange.

Dr. Choudhary proposed holding skill development events at Kazakhstan House such as workshops, conferences, and training courses. In addition, he suggested that the Embassy of Kazakhstan with Comstech facilitate the mobility of alumni to Kazakhstan for skill development courses, and organize a joint Education Expo in Islamabad.

The Punjab Higher Education Commission's chair, Professor Dr. Shahid Munir, has stated that the fourth industrial revolution is just around the corner. As a result, he said, new social and political problems will require adaptations of economic and technological models.

The professor also stated that the Pak-Kazakh alumni forum will play a crucial role in promoting educational and cultural relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
