New Initiative Taken for Children's Education
Bhakkar has launched a pilot program to educate financially disadvantaged children.
Children who are unable to attend private schools are being enrolled by the district administration, the education department, the Private Schools Management Association (PSMA) and philanthropists. The Education Department and the PSMA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The signing ceremony was attended by Commissioner Maryam Khan, CEO Education, President PSMA, students, parents and philanthropists.
In over 300 PSMA member schools, the hundreds of children who cannot receive an education due to financial constraints will be admitted. To the point of matriculation, these children will receive free education, books, uniforms, and commuting facilities.
As Commissioner Maryam Khan said at the event, the state is responsible for providing education resources to children, and they are doing a good job at this. The role of public and private educational institutions is also commendable here. Education is the key to progress for a nation.
Tehsil, District and Division-level committees are being formed to monitor these children so that they continue their education and become dignified members of society. The Express Tribune reported that if this pilot project succeeds, other districts in Punjab may adopt it. In spite of hardships, parents should make sure their children receive an education.
