Murad Raas Issues School Based Assessment Policy 2022

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas published the school assessment in 2022. In this regard, a notice was issued to provide the details of the Punjab Examination Board (SBA) School Assessment for the 2022 school year. Applicants to verify the information provided, which has been provided by the competent authorities. According to Murad Raas tweet, the 23rd meeting of the Punjab Board of Examiners was held on October 1, 2021 to finalize the SBA 2022 guideline.

School Assessment Guide 2022

According to the announcement, the school-based assessment will cover the entire program in grades 1-8. The assessment for grades 1-5 is based solely on the 2021 national curriculum, while the assessment for grades 6 through 8 is based on the 2006 National Curriculum. Assessment for Grades 1-2 is oral and conducted. It consists of objective questions and short answers / Questions with constructed answers. The assessment for levels 3-8 is written in writing and consists of multiple-choice, short answer / constructed response questions. The weighting of the PEMs and the constructed questions for levels 3 to 8 is the same, but may vary from one level to another. The Nazra Quran 50-point assessment is conducted as a separate compulsory subject for grades 1-5 for Muslim students and Islam is assessed with 100 points. The Ethics / Religious Education Assessment for grades 1-5 is 100 points for non-Muslim students and equates to 150 points for Islam and the Nazra Quran.

Punjab Examination Commission

It has been said that PEC will provide the item bank to the schools for grades 1 to 8 for core subjects that include English, Urdu, Mathematics, General knowledge/science, Islamiat/ethics, social studies/geography, and Computer Education. The assessment for the remaining elective subjects will be prepared by the teachers on the same pattern. The item bank will be shared by PEC through its Item Bank System enabling schools to generate papers, keys, and rubrics for conduct and marking of SBA. The dates for the SBA 2022 will be provided soon by the authorities. All the CEOs are directed to share the pattern of assessment with their schools so that the teachers can align their teachings as per the assessment of the students and the completion of the syllabus.
