According to reports, students with 65 percent marks will get will be placed in colleges on preference. The decision has been taken to ensure all the vacant seats in the colleges and universities are filled
However, a large number of students have taken on Twitter to campaign against the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) and called for a retake of the MDCAT exam.
Some academics believe that the Sindh government’s move is illegal and against the law.
The experts are of the view that the expected result cannot be achieved as the number of students securing 65 percent marks is much higher than the vacant seats.
Earlier this month, Sindh Health Minister, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, had also said that government is pondering over lowering minimum passing threshold of 65 percent to clear the MDCAT exam.
She said that the decision has been taken so the seats do not remain vacant as it happened last year.
