At a press conference held by the Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, Chairman Sharaf Ali Shah announced that about 400,000 candidates will take the matriculation exams this year.
Acting Controller of Examinations Habibullah and Secretary Board Muhammad Ali Shaikh also attended the event. During a briefing, the board's Chairman said the board has released the admit cards online for classes 9 and 10.
Regular and private exams for the science and general groups will be taken by a total of 3 lakh 93 thousand 264 males and females.
This year, more than 43,000 students are taking the exams, and 79 candidates are giving them from jails as well.
To distribute the examination papers, the board has established 524 centers in different 18 towns of Karachi, including 279 for male students and 245 for female students.
As a result, he asked the proctor for examinations and other officers to instruct all examination centers to display instructions outside the examination center telling people not to bring any devices, mobile phones, or copying materials with them during the examinations.
The letter regarding reliable arrangements has been sent to Commissioner Karachi, the Director General of Rangers, the Additional Inspector General, the Director Education Karachi, and the Director of Private Schools Sindh.
Law enforcement agencies have been requested by the board to enforce Section 144 at all examination centers, which will prohibit outside interference at these centers and photostat machines operating nearby.
Center Superintendents or their representatives will receive sealed papers with authority letters from the Hub Centers and deliver them to the examination center. As soon as possible, the School Superintendent or their representative will deliver answer copies to the Board.
Invigilators will arrive at the examination center at each examination center half an hour before the commencement of the examination on a daily basis. They will remain there for the entire duration of the examination to take measures and monitor to prevent cheating as well as prepare their report on a daily basis.
In addition, the Chairman of the Board mentioned that the Vigilance Officer would sign the sealed envelope in his presence. Through the district administration and the board, the government is making a concerted effort to control duplication.
