LUMS Represents Pakistan at Turkish University’s International Staff Week
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) represented Pakistan at Turkey’s Koç University for International Staff Week. The program's primary goal is to get universities ready to meet the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs).
The organization behind Pakistan's participation was the LUMS Office of International Affairs (OIA). To increase the university's reputation and global reach, the OIA is in charge of fostering international partnerships between LUMS and its international partners. As part of its ongoing efforts to provide new opportunities for student, professor, and staff interaction, the Office has held a number of academic and cultural events on the LUMS campus in collaboration with partners from outside, including Germany, Japan, and other nations.
LUMS was represented by Ammaar Bin Saleem, from the Office of Advancement, along with representatives from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America. LUMS introduced several high-impact community initiatives during the event to promote access to higher education throughout Pakistan, including the National Outreach Programme, Women Scholarship initiative at the Suleman Dawood School of Business, and merit-based financial assistance and scholarships. Participants also exchanged views about making higher education more sustainable through best global practices and creating knowledge-sharing opportunities to enhance global stakeholder engagement and cross-learning opportunities.
According to Vice Chancellor Dr. Arshad Ahmad, LUMS is exploring various different ways to present Pakistan more effectively on a global stage in support of its sustainable future and wide international reach. The university was honored to represent Pakistan in the programme.
An exchange of ideas at a global forum requires such networking opportunities, according to Ammaar Bin Saleem. The Centre of Internationalisation at LUMS was also commended for creating these international engagement opportunities for students, faculty, and staff.
