Karnataka's Hijab Ban Case will be heard by a Larger Supreme Court Bench
The Supreme Court of India has referred the case against the hijab ban on female students in the state of Karnataka to a larger bench. Students from Karnataka petitioned the Supreme Court of India against the ban on wearing hijab in educational institutions. One judge ruled against the hijab, while another judge remarked that anyone has the right to choose whether or not to wear the hijab.
Following the split decision of the Indian Supreme Court Bench, the matter was referred to the Supreme Court, which recommended forming a larger bench. Muslim female students in Karnataka have filed a Supreme Court complaint challenging the government's ban on wearing hijab in educational institutions.
