Islamabad High Court orders not to harass Baloch students across Pakistan
Islamabad High Court has directed Chancellor Quaid-e-Azam University to ensure that no one harasses Baloch students across Pakistan.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case and lawyer Iman Mazari appeared in the court seeking recovery of missing Hafeez Baloch.
The court ruled that Chancellor University President Arif Alvi was not expected to harass any Baloch student.
In the case against harassment of Quaid-e-Azam University students, the court also directed the Vice Chancellor to inquire into Quaid-e-Azam University and directed that the Vice Chancellor should inquire and submit a report by next Friday.
The court remarked that the federal government should issue instructions not to harass Baloch students across Pakistan and the university chancellor should also ensure this.
Iman Mazari's lawyer Deputy Attorney General Zainab Janjua Advocate told the court that a meeting was held with the Home Minister yesterday but the meeting with the Home Minister was not fruitful.
Zainab Janjua Advocate told the court that yesterday the Home Minister said that there is nothing I can do, I am a guest of one day, students wrote to Quaid-e-Azam University Vice Chancellor but he was not affected.
The court remarked that it was hoped that the Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University would address the grievances of the Baloch students and further hearing of the case was adjourned till next Friday.
