HEC Announces the Pak-France ‘Peridot’ Research Program 2022
HEC invites applications for the Pak-France Research Program. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan invites faculty members of private and public universities to apply for support under the Pak-France 'Peridot' Research Program 2022.
HEC sources say faculty proposals must be submitted via the HEC online portal, research.hec.gov.pk, endorsed by the heads of HEIs and ORICs/Directories of Research.
Pakistani and French researchers can collaborate on joint research activities through PERIDOT, the Franco-Pakistani Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC).
Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC) and France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Development (MAEDI) are respectively implementing the program.
Through this initiative, researchers from French and Pakistani higher education institutions/research laboratories will be supported in their mobility.
Based on international standards, PERIDOT awardees will be selected through a merit-based, independent, transparent evaluation process.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELIGIBILITY
- To be eligible for research funding, the applicant (PI) must hold a full-time faculty position at a public or private university.
- PhD degree (or equivalent) in relevant field required
- Participating universities from Pakistan and France will be responsible for the majority of the project's costs.
- The program will only support researcher mobility to and from Pakistan.
- A key objective is to promote mobility among young researchers, especially doctoral students (supervised by the principal investigator).
- Visiting fellows must be accommodated in the host institution's resources (for example, working space)
- The project will last for three years.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Applications can be submitted online through the HEC's online portal (research.hec.gov.pk).
- Applicants must upload their completed joint application (from campusfrance portal) in the document section
One principal investigator can submit only one research proposal.
Researchers are invited to submit proposals in the following three areas:
- Climate Change, Sustainable Energy, and the Environment.
- Health, Agriculture, and Food Security.
- The Humanities and Social Sciences.
The last date to apply is November 18th, 2022.
