GB Government to allocate budget for education sector
As part of its budget allocation for non-development spending, Gilgit-Baltistan prioritized the education sector. The education sector received Rs. 12,929.869 million, or 21%, of the total budget of Rs. 61,440.640 million.
According to Muhiudeen Wani, Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan, this allocation exceeds those of the federal government and other provincial governments, demonstrating the government's commitment to the education sector.
Among the other sectors receiving notable shares are Home & Prison Department (13.58%), Health Department (11.51%), Works Department (8.59%), and Water & Power Department (6.86%).
In spite of the challenges of providing quality education to remote areas, he said Gilgit-Baltistan was determined to provide it.
Gilgit-Baltistan has also introduced advanced teaching techniques through the use of technology in a variety of educational institutions.
A number of initiatives have been taken in collaboration with institutions at the national level, such as NCA, KIPS, and NUST.
A team of bright civil servants in the province, together with the leadership of the Chief Executive and Cabinet, have ensured quality education is available to as many people as possible, according to the Chief Secretary.
