For schools and colleges, new government returns to the old curriculum

According to reports, the new federal government has ordered that work on the Single National Curriculum (SNC), which was launched by previous Prime Minister Imran Khan.

According to sources, the federal government has also directed relevant authorities to stop teaching under the SNC as soon as possible and return to the previous syllabus.

Educationists have slammed the coalition government's plan, stating that the educational system should be devoid of political motivations.

Any change in SNC, according to one educationist, will be fought at every level, and the government should leave it alone. Another education expert stated that the SNC was prepared after consulting with all national stakeholders and that there is no need to reverse it.

The SNC was developed and implemented by the PTI-led federal government for schools, universities, and seminaries. Except for Sindh, which has openly rejected the SNC, all provinces have adopted it.

All schools, colleges, and seminaries must use textbooks prepared by their individual province textbook boards under SNC.
