Education Board Changes Sindh’s Exam Timings
Education Board Changes Sindh’s Exam Timings
The Federal Ministry of Education has decided to change the timings of intermediate exams from this June.
The news comes as Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training, has revised the exam timings in Sindh for intermediate exams due to the deadly heatwave that has wreaked havoc across the nation, especially in Sindh and Punjab.
The heatwave has caused institutions to not only change the exam timings but also close down schools before the planned dates because of the unbearable weather.
This year’s examinations have relatively been tough for both the students and the administration. While students are facing different challenges coping up with the exams, the local boards have to keep up with different issues in order to run the examination process smoothly.
Additionally, Mr Tanveer Hussain has also instructed that a fresh supply of water be available to students and backup generators in case of a load-shedding mishap during examinations. The main priority is the comfort and ease of students who are giving their exams in this heat when an emergency has been declared in Sindh, due to the heatwave.
The revised timings are as follows:
Karachi – 9 am to 12 pm
Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, Nawabshah and Mirpurkhas – 8:30 am to 11:30 am
The education minister has emphasized that the safety of students is paramount and that other provinces across the nation should also consider an adjustment of timings to carry out a safe, comfortable series of intermediate examinations without risking the health of the students during trying times.
