EdTech startup Hello World Kids Based in Jordan closes Pre-series-A
Jordanian EdTech startup Hello World Kids was founded by Hanan Khader in 2015 with the goal of providing unique and enjoyable coding education to children at home or in the classroom.
Hello World Kids' founder and CEO, Hanan Khader, believes that if given the correct tools, children can accomplish incredible things. She made the decision to assist in the development of such tools and to educate children programming through HelloCode a virtual learning platform that offers coding for school curriculum. Launched in 2020 with the goal of equipping new generations with critical skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, and data analysis by teaching them text-based coding science in simple and engaging ways. The HelloCode platform is widely acknowledged as the largest Arab community for teaching programming to children.
Hello World Kids recently closed their latest investment round for an undisclosed amount. Vision Ventures joined the Pre-Series A financing, which was led by Daam Almonsha'at Holding and Oman Technology Fund.
"Our objective is to make coding instruction for kids as simple as possible, which is why we invented SmoothY, a unique programming language built exclusively for kids to act as a transitional bridge to command-based programming languages. Children who study SmoothY will be able to read and write code in Python, Java, JavaScript, and any other professional programming language available." Said Hanan Khader.
Presently, Hello World Kids has over 350,000 projects submitted by children under the age of 12 and over 4 million lines of code recorded on the platform by youngsters using SmoothY.
Ahmed Diab, CEO of Yazeed Al-Rajhi & Brothers Holding and Authorized Manager at Da'am Al-Monsha'at Limited Holding, regarding their investing, said:
"We truly believe in the importance of EduTech ventures, and the unique importance of providing the coming generations with the right tools to build their future skill-set. We could definitely see the tremendous desire to expand the business, as well as the genuine ambition to make programming a fun experience for our children. These were the primary motivators for investing in Hello World Kids and leading the investment round."
Hanan Khader concluded by stating that Hello World Company would be finalizing a new funding round in the near future in order to continue their expansion into the Saudi, Egyptian, and Pakistani sectors. The current round is intended to begin up expansion efforts in the Saudi market.
