EdTech Start-up Opiq an Estonian start-up replaces textbooks in Estonia
For a long time, education innovation has been a component of Estonia's broader digital worldview.
Estonian education is a PISA leader in Europe, and its most popular EdTech platform, Opiq,
is introducing the greatest e-education methods as part of the future classroom at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Opiq engages with top educational publishers and public sector institutions to give schools, teacher and students with a comprehensive completely digital curriculum solution.
Opiq has been used in Estonian schools since 2016, and by2019, the number of students utilizing digital textbooks had increased more than 10 times.
Opiq features interactive exercises in every chapter that students can complete using their individual profiles. Opiq provides a private and secure interactive study environment where students can make as many mistakes as they like because the ‘Try again’ option allows them to take another turn or continue learning at his own pace at home.
The Coronavirus pandemic has sparked a demand for new types of teaching and learning, emphasizing the importance of having access to high-quality education via digital platforms. During the distant study period, Opiq is an extremely useful tool for learning and connecting, and it has swiftly become Estonia's most popular e-learning platform.
An Estonian student, for example, may be seated in the Estonian Expo Pavilion's classroom, using Opiq to collaborate with his classmates back home on a task. It saves a lot of time for teachers because the exam activities are processed quickly. There is no need for manual marking. This is the most popular feature among educators.
Opiq provides a number of integrated software solutions that span all aspects of the area of education, from a tool for digitizing study materials to a learning management system and digital library for schools to educational data analytics. The specialized programme Opiq Stat is the newest addition, and it assists publishers in developing better materials and provides educational policymakers with improved decision-making tools by gathering actual patterns of digital learning.
While Opiq is used in all of Estonia's 500+ schools, it has also led to experimental programmes in Finland, Kazakhstan, and Kenya. Opiq will use Expo 2020 Dubai to meet new partners, including leading educational content producers aiming to distribute high-quality digital learning resources and public sector stakeholders eager to execute data-driven educational strategies.
The Expo will focus on education technology during the "Knowledge and Learning" theme week on December 12-18, 2021, and the Estonian Pavilion will highlight education innovation on December 15 with many new events.
