Changes in Licensing Exam attempts for Doctors by PMC

The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) has announced a modification in policy that previously limited MBBS students to three attempts at the National Licensing Exam (NLE).

A PMC representative stated in a statement on Monday that students can now take as many attempts as they desire within the five-year time limit.

The time limit would not apply to candidates who already have a foreign practitioner's licence, according to the spokesperson.

He stated that the PMC was aiming to improve Pakistan's healthcare delivery standards by cultivating an environment that generated healthcare practitioners who exemplified compassion, dedication, and excellence.

He also added that the commission is trying to improve healthcare education in Pakistan by promoting good medical and dental education, and that the healthcare regulator is developing standards in line with international best practises to ensure quality healthcare for all Pakistanis.

PMC is working with drive and passion to create, place and implement policies that are in the best interests of the nation and students, according to the spokesperson.
