Due to the effects of the increase in paper value across the country, the prices of the syllabus of various classes have increased by up to 100%. Publishers say that if the government does not take notice, books will become more expensive and education will be out of reach for the less fortunate in society.

It has become difficult for poor students to get education. When paper became expensive, the prices of books and copies started to skyrocket. The prices of the syllabus of various classes have subtly increased.

Last year, the syllabus which was originally given for Rs4000 has rapidly gone up to rs7000. In a short amount time, the price of paper has increased from Rs120 to Rs250 per kg, making books extremely expensive, and for some, unaffordable.

Publishers are worried about the increase in book prices. The Vice President of the Textbook Publishers Association says that the paper mill owners are making illegal profits with no one to regulate prices. Now, education is also becoming too expensive for those in the lower socio-economic classes.

Publishers have stated that the government should take notice of the issue and control the price of the paper. Book publishers have also expressed fear that the value of paper will increase exponentially in the coming days.
