Tech Valley Pakistan and Tevta on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to offer 500 young people scholarships for the Google Career Certificate Program.

A ceremony was held at the Tevta Secretariat, attended by Tevta Senior Director General Akhtar Abbas Bharwana and Tech Valley Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Umar Farooq, as well as senior officials of Tevta.

According to media reports, Mr. Bharwana said it would help young people in rural areas acquire digital skills and education. A number of courses are offered, including IT Support, IT Automation, Data Analytics, Project Management, UX Design, Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, Advanced Data Analytics, Advanced Business Intelligence, and Cyber Security. Through the partnership, Tech Valley Pakistan will provide Tevta Punjab with up to 500 scholarships.

Tevta's DG added that the program was designed to prepare learners for careers in high-growth fields such as cyber security, data analytics, and digital marketing. With Tech Valley Pakistan's support, they could provide learners with high-quality digital education and skill development programs that help them excel.

The partnership will also boost youth employability and bridge the skills gap in Pakistan by providing learners with access to digital education and skill development.

In the first phase of the pilot project, Tech Valley Pakistan offered 500 scholarships for youth, which would be increased in the second phase. In addition, he explained that these courses might be available online for $250 to $500, but that Tech Valley and Tevta would offer them for free in Punjab.

As a result of the partnership, the skills gap in Pakistan could be bridged, individuals and communities could be empowered, and equal opportunities would be provided for all.
