Chevening is the United Kingdom's foreign scholarship programme which offers grants to study in the UK for a year on a fully financed master's degree course, thanks to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organizations.

This year, 18,00 scholarships are expected to be awarded. Chevening symbolizes the finest of the United Kingdom. It will cover your airfare, meals, lodging, visa, and tuition fees, as well as books, allowance, vaccinations, and COVID test fees.
How to select courses for the Chevening scholarship?
You have the option of choosing from over 12,000 Master's Courses offered by over 150 different schools of higher learning.
At least three courses must be listed on your Chevening application.

Pro tip: To ensure acceptance, please apply to more than three universities, or at least five to six.
At present time, you do not need a letter of acceptance from any university to apply for Chevening. In your application, give preference to universities where you believe you have the best chance of being selected. However, you might alter your mind during the interview stage.
Candidates for Chevening Scholarships must have at least two years of work experience. The following forms of work experience are accepted for Chevening:

- Volunteering
- Internships can be paid or unpaid.
Eligibility Requirements & Prerequisites for Chevening Scholarships
- To be eligible for Chevening, you must be a citizen of a Chevening-qualified nation or territory.
- After your award has finished, you must return to your home country for a term of two years.
- By the time you submit your application, you should have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will allow you to enrol in a postgraduate programme at a UK university. In the United Kingdom, this is often comparable to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree.
- Have a minimum of two years of work experience (equivalent to 2,800 hours).
- Apply to three separate UK university courses that are eligible for you and have got an unconditional offer from one of them.
