Globally the product development avenue has been evolved from merely tangible to precisely  conceptualized, guiding the actual product formation. To sustain and excel in this  technological revolt, it is imperative for the Pakistani manufacturers to persistently enhance their skill banks in Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. Effectively addressing the issue, TUSDEC (Technology Up-gradation and Skill Development Company) has played an effective role in ‘bridging this digital divide’ by  setting up NIDA centers in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Sialkot and Quetta as five advanced CAD/CAM training institutes. The causal rudiment of NIDA is  to help the industrial clusters of Pakistan overcome the dearth of ‘digitally empowered’ manpower. In order to impart adept and agile trainings of international standard NIDA has established linkages with National / International Engineering and Design Institutions and universities. The courses cover basic to advanced design techniques applicable in all industry segments -mechanical, electrical, civil, plant, process, garment, fashion, jewelery and the array reaches  infinity.
The core objective of NIDA is to provide multidisciplinary training in CAD/CAM and change the current industrial environment from analogue to digital.  Five centers of NIDA also aim to Train the Trainers, thereby imparting professional CAD/CAM  courses to the  seasoned human resource of multiple industries. Many of NIDA certified students are working abroad and sending precious foreign remittances.
