The Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship
Overview
For journalists from South Asian nations including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, Chevening has announced the South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP).
The fellowship is administered by the University of Westminster and supported by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office of the United Kingdom (UK).
Here are the fellowship program's specifics:
The eight-week fellowship, "Good Governance in a Changing World: the Media, Politics, and Society," will be undertaken by the candidates.
The programme explores the different methods the media uses to hold democratic institutions responsible, including the executive branch, the security apparatus, and complex political structures in South Asia and the UK.
The fellows will be expected to engage in critical policy discourse, comprehend differing international viewpoints, share real-world experiences, and foster dialogue on pressing topics.
The course consists of eight demanding weeks of lectures, visits, and conversations that introduce the fellows to UK academics, media, and political individuals involved in the topic. They will organise a symposium on the subject of their choice during their last week.
