Europe offers a lot of inexpensive study options for overseas students. In many countries of Europe, education is free for not only the local students but also international students.

Here you can find the free-of-cost study education options – even if you are not given a scholarship or a bank loan.

Except for the few, these are some of the countries in Europe that offer free economical education to international students at their public universities.

Austria

Tuition fees around 1,500 per year for International students

Non-Europeans in Austria are charged a still very reasonable 1,500 euros per year.

Private universities in Austria charge 1,000 EUR to 40,000 EUR/year. The fee can vary from program to program. Especially for Post Graduate Programs such as Masters and PhD, the fee can be charged higher than masters.

Denmark

In summer 2017, universities in Finland announced that they would charge tuition fees from non-European students. The costs of the universities range between 5,000 and 20,000 euros per year.

France

Tuition fees for international students is around 2,800 - 3,800 EUR per year

With its high quality of education, and more and more Bachelor and Master programs being offered in English, France is driving a large number of international students every year to the country.

Aside from a small registration fee, most public universities in France do not charge any tuition fees from locals. However, internationals pay comparatively modest annual fees of ca. 2,800 EUR for Bachelors and 3,800 EUR for Masters.

Germany

There are no tuition fees for international students in public universities in Germany.

Germany is one of the most popular countries for international students and the universities were ranked highest on many ranking platforms. Except for very few private universities, you can study in Germany for free - regardless if you are from Europe or an overseas student. There is however a small administrative semester fee, but this covers a public transport ticket at the fraction of its usual price.
